Motorola Moto X vs. Apple iPhone 5 – Which One Attracts You

Motorola just released Moto X Phone on the August 1st event, a flagship device from Motorola. Needless to say, it’s going to be fighting against some of the greats in the space, and with that in mind, people are going to wonder if it’ll have enough power in its punch to dethrone the mighty iPhone 5 from its throne. It’s Motorola’s long awaited flagship against the iPhone 5, so we’re taking a sneak peek at how the two compare against one another.

Display:

From a far glance, we can’t deny the fact that our eyes are more attracted to the 4.7-inch 720p AMOLED display of the Moto X, since its vibrant colors just reels us in much more than anything else. With the Apple iPhone 5, it bears a modest 4-inch Retina Display (640 x 1136 pixels) that continues to give us colors that are more realistic looking, but for some reason, our eyes still favor the saturated tones put out by the Moto X. Naturally, details are pretty much identical with the two.

Design:

Here’s the thing, the iPhone 5 absolutely has the premium element on its side, since its brushed aluminum rear casing just delivers that polished quality – whereas with the Moto X, it employs a rubbery composite frame. However, the Moto X offers better ergonomics with its curved rear casing, which enables us to grasp the handset in a more natural position. Out of everything, though, we’re mesmerized to find that the Moto X is extremely convincing with its overall size, as it’s just a smidgen larger than the iPhone 5, which interestingly enough hosts a smaller 4-inch display.

Another item worth mentioning about the Moto X, we like how there’s a personalized touched with it as well. Unlike the iPhone, which is only available in black or white, there’s an insane level of customization attached to the Moto X. Sure, its construction might not feel as sturdy as Apple’s pride and joy, but heck, some people will surely appreciate the options available with Moto Maker – Moto’s online portal for designing the handset from scratch.

Interface:

Quite frankly, we already know where this is headed. Android continues to show accelerated growth with its functionality – despite the fact that iOS still has some better looking and performing apps than Android. And with the introduction of the Moto X, they’re clearly focusing a lot of effort with the experience, as some of its new features really puts it ahead of what Apple has on the iPhone 5 right now. From Touchless Controls to its Active Display, there’s no denying that the gap is widening even more between these two rival platforms.

They don’t sport the most threatening hardware under their hoods, but their processors are effective enough to deliver remarkable performances. In fact, they’re able to run most tasks with the same level of finesse and ease – then again, it’s hard to distinguish what the Moto X can do at this point, since we haven’t spent enough time dealing it with some intensive processes.

Expectations:

Finally, Motorola has a device that can tangle with the iPhone 5’s reach, namely due to the handset’s upcoming availability with all major wireless carriers in the US. There have been many devices to eclipse the iPhone in terms of hardware and software experiences, but as we’ve come to see time after time, they still are unable to dethrone it from the top of the ladder. In order to do so, the Moto X requires that balanced set of features and performance to prove that it’s a worthy candidate in making the challenge very interesting.

The Samsung Galaxy S 4 has been one of the most popular sellers in 2013 by far. The rumors and reports about the mini version of Samsung Galaxy S 4 smartphone have flooded the internet. Verizon's Nokia Lumia 928 vs AT&T's Nokia Lumia 920 – See what are the differences and which is your choice

Lumia 928 vs. Lumia 925
Verizon’s Nokia Lumia 928 has just now finally become official and it’s Nokia’s first Windows Phone 8 device on the biggest carrier in the United States. But after so much time waiting for it, how does it differ from the AT&T and internationally launched Nokia Lumia 920 that we saw half a year ago? And has the wait been worth it?

Different design, Xenon flash

Good news is there are some differences. They start from the design - the Lumia 928 is virtually the same size with a 4.5-inch 1280 x 768-pixel OLED display, but the device is more blocky, rectangular, without the sharp edges of the Lumia 920, which thus produces better visual experience for people to watch HD movies on Lumia 928. Still, the back retains the typical Nokia pillowy convex shape.

Windows Blue is confirmed by Microsoft officially to allow for smaller screened tablets

Microsoft confirmed on its blog on Monday that the long rumored update for Windows 8 that is code named Windows Blue, will be coming later this year. According to Microsoft’s Tami Reller, the update will allow Windows to run on devices of all different display sizes, form factors and battery life. Rumors that the update will allow for smaller sized Windows tablets have been circulating for some time. The update will also give more options for businesses and consumers for work and play, and will also allow Microsoft to respond to feedback from those using Windows 8 and Windows RT.

So called "Plants vs Zombies 2: It's About Time" reportedly to be released this July

Plants-vs-Zombies-2-Its-About-Time-planned-for-a-July-release
The game Plants vs Zombies has been a mega hits in gaming, especially in mobile. The game was first released on Steam back in 2009, followed by iOS in 2010, and Android in 2011. It has been a key game in the resurgence of the tower defense genre, and gamers have been eager for a sequel, and it looks like that sequel is finally coming this July.

Developer PopCap made it known that the game was in the works last August, but just today posted a teaser video on YouTube stating that the game will be launching in July. The video doesn't show any gameplay, or give any information about the game at all actually. It just shows users who are angry that the Plants vs Zombies sequel is taking so long, which seems to be why PopCap has decided to subtitle PvZ 2: It's About Time.

It is quite easy to enable it. The following three different kinds of camera shortcuts could help you put on the Galaxy S4's lock screen.

Samsung planned to release waterproof and dust resistant variant of Galaxy S 4 and an 8-inch tablet, said The Wall Street Journal

Without doubt, the Samsung Galaxy S 4 has become the most popular Android smartphone for 2013 spring since its official release. As reported, Samsung has seen four times as many pre-orders for the standard Galaxy S4 as for its predecessor, the Galaxy S3. With such a big fame and popularity among worldwide smartphone users, there’s no reason that Samsung would refuse to provide more variants of Samsung Galaxy S 4. And that comes to the point. From a report of The Wall Street Journal, Samsung is going to release two variants of Samsung Galaxy S 4 and an 8-inch Samsung tablet in the near future.
Samsung Galaxy S 4

Meanwhile, the report also says that Samsung plans a new 8-inch Galaxy tablet and a smaller, 4.3-inch version of the Galaxy S4. But no further information of the three devices mentioned above has been available currently. We have to wait for a while.

10 Best Free Call Recording Apps for Android Smartphones

Granted, some Android handsets come with a preinstalled call recorder in the dialer app, which comes in very handy, but for those who don't, there are dedicated apps in the Play Store. Unfortunately, call recording on Android is still hit-or-miss, highly dependent on the device and the software version, and you might need to record on speaker often. Motorola phones, for instance, rarely apply, the Galaxy S III has workaround issues after the Jelly Bean update, and the S II needs the recording sources tinkered with, to name a few.

Yet if they work on your handset, the apps not only let you record your conversations, but can automate the task, convert the resulting audio files, and even shoot them out via email and the like straight away. You can give them a try to check if your specific device is supported, as we've rounded some of the best free Android call recording apps for you below.

Apple iPhone 5S is reported to have a “Killer Feature” to surprise fans

iPhone 5S
HTC, Sony, and Samsung have all had their big reveals for new flagship devices, and Motorola/Google is still a couple months away from Google I/O and whatever announcement is made there. So, that means it's time for analysts to come back out and talk about Apple. The newest bit of "analysis" says that the iPhone 5S (but really iOS) will have a new "killer feature", which seems like a pretty obvious thing for Apple to aim at providing.

Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty may be a bit more reliable of a source, because she has recently met with Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer. Huberty is saying that "Apple will surprise this year" with "a killer feature that drives consumers increasingly to the platform”. She said that the feature would start on the iPhone 5S, but made it clear that whatever the improvement, it would be a software feature, because it would increase "the value of those 500 million [Apple] accounts."

Apple to release an iPhone 5S with A7 chip and fingerprint security and a cheaper fiberglass model in June?

The reports about the next iPhone have been everywhere online. There’re rumors reporting that iPhone 5S would be announced in August previously. But now, Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, who has correctly predicted quite a few Apple's plans before, now restates that Cupertino is aiming to launch both a souped-up iPhone 5S, and a more affordable iPhone in June.
iPhone 5S
The iPhone 5S might look and feel like the current Apple flagship, but upgraded with a more powerful A7 SoC, dual LED flash with alternative coloring, which we've heard about before, as well as a fingerprint security method, integrated after its acquiring of AuthenTec last year for $356 million.

The cheaper iPhone is going to add some bulk and heft compared to the premium device, and the chassis is allegedly going to be fused out of fiberglass and plastic.

It will sport LTE radio, but the analyst thinks Apple will be having tailored versions for different carriers like the TD-SCDMA China Mobile, rather than slap Qualcomm's newly-announced chip that combines all radios under the sun: "RF360's customers are OEMs who have no capability to design RF front end and PA by themselves," mentioned the analyst.

The iPhone 5S is also going to arrive in a version for China Mobile subscribers, but the analyst expects the network testing procedures to be done at a later date than the global July launch, namely around September this year, which will serve as a huge boost for the iPhone 5S holiday quarter sales.

Samsung to release Snapdragon 600 Galaxy S IV in US and Exynos 5 Octa Galaxy S IV in Europe?

For a long time of rumoring and reporting, what we know about the exact details of the next Samsung Galaxy now is that Samsung will announce Galaxy S IV on March 14th on the Samsung media event. As for the specs of the rumored-to-be-called Samsung Galaxy S IV, from the previous reports, we know this smartphone would be coming with a 4.99" FHD (1920x1080 pixels) Solux screen display, quad-core processor, three different models (16GB, 32GB and 64GB), and some other minor features. The processor of this smartphone has been rumored a lot. Many people expect Samsung Galaxy S IV to be featuring a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor, though some rumors suggested the Samsung Galaxy S IV might be out with Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor.

According to the latest news, Samsung would announce different models of CPU for Galaxy S IV in different regions. It is reported that Samsung Galaxy S IV would use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 in the United States, and a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa in Europe and other places of the world where LTE is not that widespread, according to a recent JPMorgan note. For the Snapdragon 600, Samsung might be placing orders with TSMC, the foundry that uses its 28nm process to make Qualcomm’s chip. All this might be of a big benefit to TSMC and one more reason why the company expects stronger than usual Q1 revenue. Of course, for the detailed specs of Samsung Galaxy S IV, we still need to wait for the March 14th Samsung Galaxy event.

When will the next Microsoft Xbox be released? This must have been a big concern since Sony officially unveiled its PS4 last week. There were reports that indicate a June release event of Xbox on the E3 before. But some clues and reports suggested that Microsoft might put the date forward, pointing to early April release. And, just the very recent, Rob Crossley, the editor of CVG, leaked the official release date of Microsoft’s next Xbox via her Twitter account. In her Twitter, she mentioned that “The next Xbox event is scheduled for April 26th, I’ve been told by someone I trust. Microsoft may change date, obvs, but dirise tentatively.” Taking into account of the previous rumors that Microsoft would make some big moves in April, this new report seems to be great possible.
