In the 2021 Suicide Squad, the US government sent out the squad to handle the inter-dimensional creature Starro the conqueror, who was found in space by American astronauts and imprisoned in Jotunheim, a Nazi-era laboratory that is off the books. While the Maltesian government tries to stifle dissidents, journalists and political rivals would be thrown into the Jotunheim, experimented with by Thinker the scientists, and eventually absorbed into Starro’s zombie army.
