1. DAYS OF SANTIAGO (DIAS DE SANTIAGO)

Santiago Román is a former combatant of the Peruvian Navy who fought against drug trafficking and terrorism in his country, and being part of the Cenepa conflict against Ecuador in 1995. He has spent so much time in military cloisters that he does not know how to function in civil life, and less in a city of as many contrasts as Lima. 2. The Holy Innocents (Los santos inocentes)

This is a Spanish drama film based on famous Miguel Delibes' novel of the same title. The movie stars Alfredo Landa and Francisco Rabal. The film was the highest-grossing Spanish film in Spain at the time.


3. El Sur ("The South")

El Sur ("The South") is a 1983 drama film based on Adelaida García Morales' short novel of the same name. This film tells the story of a little girl living somewhere in the north of Spain and fascinated by the secrets of the south seemingly buried in the traits of her father. In her childhood, Estrella's father is a mysterious world. Growing up, she finds out that he once had a sweetheart and that he is still in love with her.


4. The Hunt (La caza)

The film is a psychological thriller about three veterans of the Spanish Civil War who meet to go rabbit hunting. It was Saura's first international success, winning the Silver Bear for Best Director at the 16th Berlin International Film Festival. It is considered a classic of Spanish Cinema.


5. Temporada de patos (Duck Season)

This is a 2004 Mexican film which is filmed in black and white and mostly takes place in one location, an old apartment in Tlatelolco. Flama and Moko are two 14-year-olds who have been friends. One day, Flama invites Moko to play videogames while his mother is not home. There they have everything they need to survive such as videogames, pizza delivery and everything else, but with no parents. But when the power goes out what seemed like a regular day becomes an adventure.
