and the official music video release for Climax,
Usher Raymond again shows his effort for the upcoming 7th album
release of Looking for Myself by officially premiering his new single Lemme See, which features
Rick Ross. The full album is to be dropped on June 12. “Lemme See” is a
production courtesy of Jim Jonsin, architect of Kelly Rowland’s “Motivation”—a
fact that becomes abundantly clear within its first couple seconds, as the song
has the same kind of twinkling, echoing ping-pong hook (“Popcorn” style) that
made “Motivation” so instantly distinctive. That hook gives way to slurred
synths and hard drum hits on the verses, a perfectly grimy (though far from
ugly) beat for Usher to get a little funky over. When talking about the new
album, Ush told the MTV news that "This album has many different views and
many different perspectives," "Whereas the first song was a little
bit more artistic and a little bit more soulful, and it has done everything, it
probably exceeded my expectations, I mean, from the moment I was able to give
it away. I was able to kind of be reintroduced in a way musically, and thank
you to [producer] Diplo, but 'Scream' is really like the next step. It's just
in time for summer and the type of experience that I want people to get out of
the album."
